主要內容除了介紹現階段 CFD 在我國航太工業的應用情形外,也 對於飛行載具氣動力設計流程、飛行載具流場數值模擬流程做一概略 的說明。同時分享講者三十多年氣動力設計、模擬分析經驗,以及對 現階段在學熱流組研究生的期盼。 最後介紹講者在未來 CFD 應用的發展目標與規劃方向,提供畢業 後有志於投入國防、航太業的同學作為參考。

Title: Role of Surface Engineering for Enhanced Pool Boiling of Highly Wetting Dielectric Liquid

Abstract:
The realization of advanced technologies to augment boiling heat transfer is of dire significance due to its impact on energy, environment, and thermal management requirements of high-power electronics. Recent studies have revealed that micro and nanoscale coatings of high surface area can substantially enhance boiling heat transfer performance. While promising results have been reported in the literature for the pool boiling of water, there are comparatively fewer research reports about the enhanced pool boiling of highly wetting dielectric liquids with little understanding, and even less consensus, on the fundamental underlying mechanisms by which structured coatings enhance boiling. Besides, dielectric liquids possess great potential for thermal management of electronic devices for containing features like environmental benign and are free from electrical hazards. However, very large wall superheats are required for the boiling incipience due to very low surface tension of these highly wetting liquids. Furthermore, the associated fabrication methods employed in the lab are not scalable to large areas and complex geometries for industrial applications. The emphasis of the Ph.D. dissertation research is on: (1) detailed review of engineered surfaces for enhanced pool boiling of dielectric liquids, (2) development of various micro/nano structured surfaces, (3) the role of surface engineering for enhanced pool boiling of a highly wetting dielectric liquid, HFE-7200, (4) characterization of the effects of different configurations of nanowires surfaces on boiling performance, (5) design and engineering of robust high performance surfaces, and (6) development/comparison/ of a prediction model to predict the pool boiling heat transfer.
Biography:
Uzair Sajjad was born 30 years ago in a desolate small town of Southern Punjab, Pakistan where there were only several rows of low and primitive huts constructed with bricks. He started his early education in the same town and completed my intermediate. Fortunately, he got admission in UET Taxila and did his graduation from there, and during this time, he has been working on cooling of solar photovoltaic modules. After practical exposure of one and half year, he started academia as a career and wanted to contribute in mechanical engineering research. For this enthusiasm, he got admission in National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan where he is doing research on Cooling of electronics. During last 3 years, he has been involved in couple of industrial projects. Besides, he has published 22 research articles (plus 08 manuscripts are submitted to various internationally reputed journals).
