國立陽明交通大學（NYCU）無人機團隊在2024台灣無人飛機創意設計競賽中大放異彩，榮獲飛機設計組和創新設計組雙料亞軍。
自六年前成立以來，NYCU無人機團隊從一群對無人機設計充滿熱忱的機械系學生自發性組織，逐漸發展為一個具備明確組織架構及分工的小型社團。今年的競賽主題為「空中運載任務」，團隊首次嘗試使用輕量化複合材料製造無人機，並採用上反角和漸縮翼的設計，使無人機具備低速穩定性、高操控性及優異的抗風能力。
由賴錦文教授擔任指導老師，隊長張詠翔帶領團隊成員自去年底開始投入研究與試作。儘管在過程中面臨人力不足、經費短缺以及新規則的挑戰，但這些困難反而促使團隊迅速成長。在飛機設計組中，團隊以優異的飛行表現取得滿分，成為前三名中唯一來自非航太相關科系的隊伍，充分展現了陽交大機械工程系的廣泛性和卓越性，也獲得了專業人士的高度肯定。

The National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) UAV team shone brightly at the 2024 Taiwan UAV Creative Design Competition,
securing second places in both the Aircraft Design and Innovative Design categories. Founded six years ago,
the NYCU UAV Team began as a self-initiated group of mechanical engineering students passionate about UAV design. Over time,
it has evolved into a well-structured and professionally organized club.
This year's competition focused on 'Aerial Transport Missions,' and for the first time, the team experimented with lightweight composite materials in their UAV construction.
They integrated dihedral angles and tapered wing features into their design,
which resulted in UAVs with improved low-speed stability, enhanced maneuverability, and superior wind resistance.
Guided by Professor Lua Kim Boon and led by team leader Yong-Xiang Chang, the team began their research and prototyping efforts at the end of last year.
Despite facing challenges such as insufficient manpower,
budget constraints, and new competition rules, these obstacles only fueled the team’s rapid growth. In the Aircraft Design category,
the team achieved a perfect score for flight performance,
making them the only non-aerospace-specialized team among the top three. This achievement showcased the breadth and excellence of NYCU's
Department of Mechanical Engineering and earned high praise from industry professionals.
