NCTU ME

I. Background: The department alumni association was originally under the university alumni association and did not operate independently. However, in 2007, an alumnus suggested that the department independently form an alumni association to make it more convenient for department graduates to get together. The department convened a preparatory meeting on March 30, 2007 for this purpose and on April 12, 2008 held a general alumni assembly, formally establishing the Department of Mechanical Engineering Alumni Association.

III. Activities:

1. General Assembly: Held every year, during the university’s Foundation Day (about April) celebrations; all alumni are invited to come and join.

2. Class reunion: Currently, during Foundation Day celebrations, the department will host reunions for alumni who have graduated 10, 20, and 30 years from the university. We also welcome alumni from different batches to hold their reunions on that day while participating in the various activities organized by the university!
